Bottom line up front; I took my 2001 Jetta in for two issues; driver’s door handle and a transmission shudder. While fixing the door handle they stripped the paint off the door and said it was my problem, For the transmission they said I need a new one at a cost of $5200. I took it to Transmission Central in Plainfield and he fixed it for $86.69 a savings of over $5100 dollars.

Below is a cut and paste from the survey I filled out. Their comment is that the company who painted my vehicle is at fault. Nope, the paint held up fine for 5 years until YOU, Valenti, applied tape and pulled it off.

Thank you for filling out our satisfaction survey. I have called and left you a message on your voice mail. We spoke with our body shop when your vehicle was in for service as we have never had paint pull off a vehicle when using tape. I would recommend to contact whoever painted your vehicle as issue is either a workmanship issue or the products used were not compatible.

I see the destroyed paint job every time I get into the car!

That's the only place I trust with my car now. ( Volkswagen only)

During the effort to repair the door latch, a 3" x 3" area of clear coat and paint was pulled off by the tape use to hold the window while replacing the door latch. I was informed of this by the service advisor when I came to pick up the car; no apology was given nor was there any offer to repair the damage the dealership caused - I am VERY dissatisfied.

Go figure.

I have over a 1000 miles on the fixed transmission and it runs like new with better gas mileage.

If you are in the market for a new VW or good used car on the lot, make sure you go see Geoff Gillies. I am blown away with how well he handled our transaction with a trade in of our old car and purchase of our Jeep Grand Cherokee. He really cares about the customer and made the whole experience easy and seamless. Everyone there was super friendly and they made sure we were able to drive the car off the lot the day we test drove it. I am beyond impressed with this dealership. Also, Dan made the financial side of the experience transparent and stress free. Thank you Valenti VW TEAM!

Second issue, the shudder. I was informed, by Valenti, it was the transmission, which I suspected, and that a new one would cost $5200 installed. No effort to repair the current one. So the reality is the service department just swaps out whole components, no real repair efforts.

I will NEVER GO BACK to Valenti VW and would NOT RECOMMEND THEM to any one.

Today, Geoff answered all of our questions and helped us into exactly what we were looking for. John made credit approval quick and painless. No pressure and a quick transaction- now off to enjoy the new Tiguan :)

When I came into pick up the car the service advisor told me about it, made no apology about the damage done to my car during the repair nor was any offer made to fix the damage.

I would give no stars if I could.

So again, no apology for damaging my car during the repair effort; they said the cause was poor workmanship by the paint shop and dumped it in my lap.
