Imagine dozens of years ago when the acres of woodsy meadows were cleared fields, chickens and cows milled before towering barns, wagons full of quarried stone jounced along the lanes, nay the “pentways” running between meandering stone walls, and the farmer’s view was unobstructed all the way down the hill to the river. Take a walk here, stand in the foundations of the old barns, imagine.... Don’t miss the little gift shop under the former farmhouse. Great photos of what was, and wonderful buys to be had.
Fun place to go for a walk. They also have a robust educational center where they teach sustainability classes to both kids and adults. The organization that runs this property contributes a lot to the area and preserves a lot of the areas historical value as well as environmental value.

Must visit if you are interested organic home gardening! Staff were very friendly and showed us the garden. They have a lovely collection of vegetables and herbs. Take your kids for a fun and informative outing.
