Cozy atmosphere. Good salad bar offerings and decent portions for entrees. Courteous staff. Went on a hunch for a Valentine's day meal and was impressed enough to return multiple times. In fact our latest visit we ate here two nights in a row. Interesting simulated rustic decor in some areas of the restaurant while other areas could use an update. Stonington baked scallops were very good as is the teriyaki flank steak which the waitress told us they marinate overnight to lock in the flavor. Nicely diverse salad bar which includes various lettuce types, potato salad, antipasto, three bean salad, and bread. There is a full service bar with quick bites menu available and there is often live entertainment.
The staff was friendly and attentive. Our waitress answered our questions and checked back in with us often but didn't hover around our table waiting to bring us stuff if needed.
The restaurant itself is nice. The lights are a little dim so you might need to use your phones flashlight or bring a mini one with if you have bad eye sight. The decor seems to be old and western almost like a saloon not like a roadhouse restaurant. This opinion is based on where we sat which was in the dining room (the portion with the salad bar area.) Even though there is a bar portion (not sure if they allow smoking as this wasn't an issue for us,) you didn't have the overflow of stale beer/smoke smell going on like with other bar/restaurants.
I've eaten here a dozen times or more. It's not amazing but it's a solid B+. Portion sizes are small but the salad bar makes up for it. Amazing service, I have always had extremely nice/ courteous waitresses. Good atmosphere and live music is on par.
The salad bar was nice and had a good variety of items. Unfortunately if you wanted carrots, tomatoes, broccoli etc., it was whole (baby sized) but it was a nice selection. The steaks we ordered (12oz Ribeyes) were cooked to our liking and the baked potatoes were hot and cooked just right. Our dessert was good (even though it came from a place close to home.)
For a place that specializes in steaks, mine was sub par and over done. There was no flavor and it was especially tough to chew. My stuffed potato was bland and tasteless. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals and the salad bar was decent. I did enjoy their selection of breads.
Can't say I would voluntarily eat here again.
Brain dead woman greets us with hello and a stare. No welcome or asks if we want a table. Server was also uninterested. The food is average and the place is dirty.
I cannot say I overly enjoyed eating here, I went a few weeks ago with some friends. I felt guilty because it was their treat and everything was so expensive and so bad. I would have been less disappointed if it was cheaper, then I would feel the food was more valued for its price.
Had dinner here for the first time today. It wasn't bad, a bit pricey ($94 and change for 2 steak dinners and a shared dessert,) but if you break down the cost of everything you get and the fact you don't have to cook it yourself (so you get to relax a little bit) you don't mind spending the little extra compared to making it at home yourself.
The decor was nostalgic for me because it reminded me of a cabin my family stayed at during summers when I was a child, but I am not sure anyone else would appreciate the writing on the walls. No, really, there is writing all over the walls.
Our waiter was very nice and did try hard, but I feel there is some disorganization kitchen side. He was having to do prepare parts of our meals, sauces, gravy, all while running around tending tables.
