A fun place to take the family. Don't expect a large facility, but it is big enough to spend 4 hours here. The sea lion show is fun and a must see. They have a tent for petting stingrays and the main gallery has some petting areas as well. Food is expensive here. Your best bet is to eat elsewhere before or after you go if you can wait. Many aquatic species. The jellyfish exhibit is very neat. Admission is a little steep but it is worth the smiles.
It's a nice little aquarium, and considering its size, they have a nice variety of fish and other marine wildlife, and you can get through it in two to three hours. Due to the time of year, certain exhibits, like the penguins, weren't available.
This has to be by far the best place I have ever been. First off it was very cold today and raining but the staff made it worth it times 100. I also got to be picked for the special guest on the sea lion show and it was phenomenal. The trainer was super nice and sweet. Last stop we had was the penquins up close encounter. If you ever get the chance to, it is worth ever penny and more. I had an amazing time and can't wait to come back next summer and do the encounter with the Beluga whale. I would recommend this to everyone!
I loved this aquarium. Not huge but very enjoyable. I went 2 days in a row. An employee gave me a tip that you can go 3 days in a row for the price of one entry, which is nice because it's around $35 for an adult admission. I don't think they advertise that though. The sea lion show was fun, very good to inspire young children. Friendly staff, but not all were super knowledgeable, some were. Again, it's a small aquarium so there were animals I would have liked to see that they don't have or have too few of. Be sure to check out the frog exhibit, I didn't realize it was there in an adjacent building until the 2nd day.
It was a bit more crowded than my boyfriend and I thought it would be, but I think it was school vacation week. If you mind going there when there are lots of children and families, I would think about the time of year you go.
BELUGA! It was worth the 5 hour drive to see the beluga whales. They are stunningly gorgeous creatures. I had never seen a whale, or aquatic creature, that big in real life before this visit. Visited With my husband on a very rainy day but we still enjoyed ourselves. The sea lions had a blast in the rain which was fun to watch even though we got SOAKED! Purchased sweaters, t shirts, & beluga trinkets from the gift shop. I purchased the seaport & aquarium combo for 55$. I'd definitely visit the aquarium again!
The staff are very friendly and helpful, if you need any assistance.
I was able to get us in free of charge due to a promotion through my employer. Otherwise, I believe it would have been $37 per person. While the aquarium is nice, I'm not sure I would pay that much to enter, though I do understand they do a lot of work to maintain the wildlife and promote conservation. I'm sure all of that comes at a cost.
